Sunday 15th Wind Forecast |
It's around this time of the week that you will be looking at the forecasts and wondering whether it's worth the journey. I'll get to the point quickly - yes! It's not going to be a 5 star weekend but definitely worth the effort to get out.
For the region between Enniscrone up tp Rossnowlagh there will be a worthwhile amount of swell of 7 to 8ft coming in from a west direction, with a little more northerly on Saturday (Sat = WNW, Sunday = W). That should bring a mix of conditions from a couple of feet to at least overhead conditions on the right beaches.
As always, it's the wind that will decide where you will want to go. Saturday will have the gentlest winds for the weekend at about 10 mph while Sunday sees it forecast to double in speed (plus more in gusts). Wind direction is WSW on Sat and a little more Westerly on Sunday.
So, in summary:
Saturday will be a challenge to find offshore waves though there will be a number of good cross shore options.
Sunday may have a couple of the more northerly facing shores getting cross to off-shore conditions though with those strong gusting conditions too.
Overall both days will have good waves to find. Get out there!
